Theme: God’s Love

•     Session 1 - We can be a channel for God’s love

Visual aid: dry plant, bucket of water, demijohn, and syphon tube.

Application: We are not to be a container for God’s love, merely for our own benefit. God wants us to be a pipe, a channel, to receive His love, mercy and grace and to pass them on to others. We need to be connected to God, receiving from God, giving to others, clean and free from blockage, and humble.

Song: “God’s love, like an ocean”.

•     Reading  John 21: 1-17

•     Session 2 - Peter, a channel for God’s love

John 13:1 “Having loved His own, Jesus loved them to the end”. This means ‘uttermost’, unlike Boohoo the Hippo! The love of God for us is eternal. Eph 3:19 - it surpasses knowledge, but we can still know it! We can only love because God loved us first, and we can only show Christ’s love in our lives if we have first experienced it.

John 21:15 Peter had moved far from the position of devoted and connitted disciple he had once enjoyed. Jesus revealed himself in love and grace. He met Peter’s deepest need, and restored him to be a channel of Christ’s love and grace to others. Jesus looks at us, as he looked at Peter, and says, “Do you truly love me?” And we respond, “Lord, you know all things ..... ”

Lord, reveal yourself to me afresh. Let me have a new insight of your love and grace. Lord touch my life where I really need your cleansing, healing and restoration. Lord fill me, and use me, for your glory. Lord, I love you, because you love me to the uttermost.
