Theme: Psalm 103 - God’s Benefits

Bible Passage
Psalm 103

Introduction

1.      Who is to praise (v1,2,20-22)
My own soul - prone to forgetfulness
Angelic beings - mighty ones who do God’s bidding
Heavenly host - who do His will
All His works - in His dominion

2.      God’s benefits to me(vv 3-5)
Forgives all my sins
Heals all my diseases
Redeems my life from the pit
Crowns me with love and compassion
Satisfies my desires with good things
Renews my youth like the eagle’s

3.      God’s benefits to all (vv 5-14)

His righteousness:
      justice for the oppressed
making known His ways to his people
His love and grace:
      slow to anger
does not repay us as we deserve
His love for us is unfathomable
      He casts our sins away
      He remembers our limitations

4.      The fate of man by himself (vv 15-16)

Like the grass
      Flourishes for a short while
      But then vanishes
      And is forgotten

5.      The fate of those who belong to God (vv 17-19)

Loved forever
Righteousness to one generation after another
      to those who fear Him
      to those who obey Him
Belonging to His kingdom
