Trent Bridge Cottage, Willington

The bridge at Willington spans the river Trent between Willington and Repton. The bridge was originally a toll bridge, and Bridge Cottage was the toll house. The bridge was freed from tolls on 1 Aug 1898, and thereafter Bridge Cottage was used as a normal residence until it was demolished in 1958 after being severely damaged by a motor vehicle (see Discover Derbyshire and the Peak District).
