Additional Information

Robert Samuel was bound to Richard Lambert Rose, Deptford, as apprentice lighterman on 12 Jul 1832. He received his freedom on 14 Nov 1839.

Robert Samuel was found dead on the Maplin Sands, off Great Wakering on 18 Jul 1868. He was buried three days later at St Nicholas, Great Wakering. Strangely there was no inquest, and the death was not registered until 31 Mar 1869. Cause of death was recorded as unknown.
