This Bible Hex quiz game has been programmed using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications in the context of a PowerPoint show. You will need Microsoft PowerPoint to be installed on your computer to run this game. Click the image on the left, and decide whether to open the file with PowerPoint directly, or whether to save the file to run with PowerPoint later. Running the show will cause a macro security alert to be displayed. Select the button to enable macro content, otherwise the game will not run.

The questions in this quiz game are about Daniel in the Bible. The game was designed to be played in a church All-Age or Family Service, by two teams selected from the congregation: red team and blue team. The presenter interacts with the program to implement the choices of the teams, and to record whether a question has been answered correctly. The aim of each team is to create a continuous path of cells of their own colour, either from top to bottom or from side to side. The program detects when such a path exists, and declares the relevant team the winner.

Instructions

The following instructions assume that the PowerPoint show has started running, with macros enabled.

• Click anywhere on the title page to start the game
• The top right box shows the team to play first; click this box to change to the other team.
• Ask the next team to play to choose one of the hexagon cells not yet coloured red or blue. Click this cell to display a quiz question.
• After the team has answered the question, click anywhere on the screen to display the answer. Click the "right" or "wrong" button based on the team response.
• If the question was answered correctly the hexagon cell will now have that team's colour. The other team can now take a turn.
• If a continuous pathway of cells of the same colour exists, from top to bottom or from side to side, then the appropriate team is declared to be the winner.
• At any time the "R" button, bottom right, can be clicked to reset the game back to the beginning.
• When closing down PowerPoint will ask if you wish to save changes: click "Don't Save" to ensure that the game will start at the beginning next time it is run.
