Henry was also called Harry. Henry lived with his sister Elizabeth Pullen and her household in 1911, 1945-48, 1951-52, and possibly other times. A Henry James Townsend was apprenticed to master lighterman Robert Townsend, based at Stepney, on 14 Mar 1899. This was very likely Henry’s uncle Robert (1852-1927). There is no record of his having attained his freedom. |
