Marmaduke and his wife Anne were both buried at St Andrew’s Church, South Otterington, by Newby Wiske, Yorkshire. Like his brother James, William Willis moved to London and became a vintner, apprenticed to Benjamin Frere, London, on 7 Dec 1768. Benjamin Frere was the proprietor of the Thatched House Tavern from 1765 to 1770 when James Willis took it over. |
