Additional Information

George’s birth was registered by his mother, Fanny Bennett née Slaney. She did not provide his first name, and she stated that the father’s name was John Bennett, not Charles.

In the 1911 England Census it is stated that George and Elizabeth had 13 children, of whom 10 were surviving at that time. Sadly by Sep 1917 four of their children had died before reaching the age of 21.

There is an error in the parish baptism record for Annie Elizabeth Bennett. The minister wrote her father’s middle name, Sidney, as if it were his surname.

Leonard and Susan had a son, James Leonard Bennett, who died tragically on 3 Dec 1958, age 18 years and 9 months, by drowning in the river Trent in an accident involving a tractor.

James Eaton and Emily Eaton were siblings, as were Susan and Elsie Sharratt.
