This Bible memory verse game has been programmed using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications in the context of a PowerPoint show. You will need Microsoft PowerPoint to be installed on your computer to run this game. Click the image on the left, and decide whether to open the file with PowerPoint directly, or whether to save the file to run with PowerPoint later. Running the show will cause a macro security alert to be displayed. Select the button to enable macro content, otherwise the game will not run.

The game was designed to be played in a church All-Age or Family Service, by the entire congregation or a smaller group. The presenter interacts with the program to implement the choices of those playing, and to record whether they successfully solve the clues. It is necessary for the presenter to know beforehand what the verse says.

The game can be played by two teams guessing clues alternately. In this case the presenter needs to keep score of the number of words inserted by each team.

Instructions

The following instructions assume that the PowerPoint show has started running, with macros enabled.

• Click the Start button.
• A Bible verse is displayed, with the words blamked out and numbered. Choose one of the blanked words and a clue will be displayed. A timer gives 15 seconds for the clue to be solved.
• If the presenter decides that the clue has been solved correctly then he clicks the green happy-face button, and the word gets inserted accordingly.
• If the clue is not solved correctly then the presenter clicks the orange sad-face button, and the word remains blank.
• When closing down PowerPoint will ask if you wish to save changes: click "Don't Save" to ensure that the game will start at the beginning next time it is run.
